Introducing NEEDPEDIA: an Open Sourced Community for Solutions to All Problems - Interview with Founder Anthony Brasher - Project Description & Links (3 Videos)
What is Needpedia?
Needpedia is a platform that solves problems strategically and scientifically, with layered solutions, designed for experts and novices alike. This way, whether you are well versed in a subject and are seeking/offering specific technicalities and detailed explanations, or just an every day person seeking step by step instructions, and do not need to necessarily understand the mechanics, all the details are there in scientific AND laymen's terms, so everyone can get the best information available for their particular application. Solutions will also have ratings from a voting system, for quicker searches that are already pre-filtered by the community - and/or help develop solutions ever further by offering you valid info to be approved by those who use it.
Needpedia is honestly one of the best blockchain AND social progression projects I have ever come across, and am honored to be on the ground floor of this revolutionary project with a friend. The following is a video interview between Anthony Brasher (founder of Needpedia) and myself, explaining more about what Needpedia is, visions of this project's future, what is still needed to elevate it to the next stage of development, and how you can help. Please, join us.

I have also included Anthony Brahser's description of Needpedia. The following describes the project in his own words, followed by two professionally produced promotional videos, that explain how the platform will work in the simplest language possible.
"People have problems, and ultimately they want to know the best solutions; Needpedia seeks to provide solutions to all proposed problems. Just enter what you want to discuss, and you will see a list of all the problems listed there. Once you click on a problem, the wiki gives you a list of all the ideas anyone's had for that specific problem, regardless if you're asking about science, culture, technological issues, or food.
Since some problems are extremely controversial, a number of support features have been developed. For instance, Needpedia offers users the “token system”, which is based on embedding interesting and useful content, into small hypertext icons that users can essentially drop right into pages for everyone else to see and interact with - right after any word they want. This way, logical fallacies and misinformation will be sitting ducks for everyone else to point out. With these tools and others, everyone will be free to question anything, whether you an expert or novice. This will not be in a 'comment section' where most people won't see it. People want to know if the debates going to be interesting based on the very statements they are being dropped next to.
Another way we plan to help experts and novices alike is by providing the “layer system”. The idea is to let experts in any field create their own layers to any post. This way the public layer doesn't become difficult to understand, but there can also be incredibly in-depth discussions. This will also provide space for everyone else to learn science and other subjects by reading through expert layers about their own area, and any other.
The fields of science themselves will be 'areas' listed on Needpedia, wherein space is available for people to list all problems and ideas they have with them. And in turn, experts and everyone else will be free to discuss and brainstorm on all of Needpedia's problems. The hope is to create a powerful positive feedback loop that benefits all of human kind. We very much hope you will join us in this mission, benefit, and enjoy yourself in the process.
In fact, we've also designed a few feature to directly benefit users. The time bank is a place for people to list tasks they'd like help with. Fulfill an agreement with someone and you get time credit, then you can list a task you'd like help with. Time banks naturally catalyze human interaction and build community. It also provides people a way to play off of everyone's strengths. -need someone who's good with plants? -or perhaps someone who can walk your dog while you're away? Each verified account starts off with an hour of time credit so there's no reason to not at least try it out. User accounts will also have space for people to list all items and services they have or want, as well as ratings from previous interactions. Combined, these features create the ultimate digital mass garage sale. Whether someone only has their time to offer, or they like the idea of 'buying used' to save money and reduce their carbon footprint, they can directly benefit from using Needpedia."
"Because people need to see all their options side by side, with ratings, instead of just whatever Google decides to show them, we believe it’s time to build a wiki for all solutions.
Once you get people talking about problems in the digital realm it becomes possible to design around the strengths and weaknesses of users, as well as create tools that let citizens and communities work directly with experts.
Perhaps most importantly of all, we’re going to be listing and rating all problems with Needpedia, along with everyone’s ideas for solutions. The goal is to essentially create a massive positive feedback loop that starts with spreading the world’s best ideas like wildfire, and ends with an optimization engine for all of human life.
From science to human sexuality.
Once we map out all the options, we can use data and the process of elimination to make better decisions, that’s really what this is all about.
There’s zero corporate or government strings attached to this project, so we genuinely need the community’s support in order to succeed. If successful this will ensure ownership of Needpedia can remain in the hands of the community, instead of being tied down by investors. By avoiding monetization entirely we ensure users data will never be sold, and that censorship and ‘pay walls’ never appear."
What are citizen-expert-coalitions?
"Simply put, the more citizens that use Needpedia to discuss problems in their area and elsewhere, the easier it will be for experts to reach them. They can even drop debates and create their own layers. Perhaps most importantly though, they can craft their own proposals and listings. With enough activity, citizens and experts are going to begin collaborating, and producing proposals that outperform representative democracy. From there “open party” representatives can be selected to change the world's governments from the inside, nonviolently.
The trick is to make it so anyone who tries bribing or threatening an open party representative, will simply be told the moment they disobey a 70% consensus, that they will be sued, thrown out, and their undemocratic actions are to be retroactively invalidated. In a sense, it's like building a vice: once we have a large user base, and the right features, we can finally begin seeing the true consensus among people as a whole. Until the politicians elect to introduce and vote on the legislation that we actually want, that can tell the people bribing or threatening them that their hands are completely tied, and that their misdeeds would simply be retroactively invalidated, only then can we start to make some real societal progression. Today's problems are no coincidence, they're profitable. Dangerously profitable - people are making a killing off them.
In order for us to make real positive change, we will need to legislate against extremely powerful people - or at least prove Open Source Governance works before society collapses, so the survivors can have some hope of not repeating history. More than anything else though, Needpedia is a response to major world dangers that are steering us towards an uninhabitable Earth. As much as we look forward to discussing science and culture, and the time bank, our sincere hope is that we can all unite and prove once and for all, that with the right conditions, democracy can work, it just needs to be facilitated properly. Now we need build a community and make it happen."
Below are two short promotional videos, created by the Needpedia team, providing an easy to understand and illustrated explanation of how Needpedia works.
