I was so happy when I first saw this beetle, because that was the very first time I saw this guy resting on the branch of a wild plant. This guy is Sagra femorata is a species of beetle belonging to the family Chrysomelidae.
What attract me beside its big size was that the color of this beetle is too shiny to resist, and definitely not a good hiding technique for the bettle in case it want to avoid any predator.
But I guess that this guy doesn't have much predator, so that it decided to choose this color scheme for its body.
The color of its body can change depending on how the light hits the body and then how it reflected the light back to our eyess. Such an interesting feature for a wild animal.
It could turn into reddish orange, to orange, or a little bit to blue on different angle, and here as you can see has so many color just from one single shot from my camera.
Here i use my hand as the background color, and the color of its body not as many as it is from the other side and from other background, but still such a pretty beetle.
