Jeffrey Wernick, and Uber and Airbnb investor, and Bitcoin's early buyer (2009) still calls it “the currency of the people”, and defines its ultimate power in its ability to solve the biggest problems fiat money have, such as lack of people's trust, as the government can debase any currency massively without people actually giving their consent to it.
Bitcoin, according to Wernick, is defined "by rules and a protocol that people trust," and since those protocols aren't controlled by third parties, this fiat's problem can be solved.
