- STEEM COSMO: Welcome everyone to this week's edition once more, today we have a special guest with us and he's none other than the community's very own donkeypong@donkeypong, welcome, can you tell us how you found steemit?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Like many people, I found Bitcoin first. It was revolutionary, but the mining seemed very wasteful and likely to be dominated by a handful of people. Even back then, it felt like a first generation cryptocurrency. My search for something better took me to Peercoin and NXT, which did not rely on mining in the same way, and eventually I found BitShares. The developer, Dan Larimer, and his team had a great vision and I came to trust their integrity. They showed their skill in creating Graphene, the backbone of the BTS and Steem currencies. Once they started Steemit, I moved over here and really took to the writing aspect. I may have been one of the first non-technical members on here, so I was fortunate to have the opportunity to write and establish my blog early on. Now we're growing an incredible site with Steemit and I'm equally excited about the possibilities for using the Steem as a currency for millions of people around the world. It's free, it's secure, and it's lightning fast. This is the new money and it's backed by a great community that has only just started to grow. Exciting times ahead!

- STEEM COSMO: That was really wonderful journey you had, let us get to know more about you, what are your likes?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: My family, my dog, good books, blue water, and good kombucha.

- STEEM COSMO: And what about your dislikes?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Trolls and spam.

- STEEM COSMO: We all hate the spam, as an individual, tell us more about your hobby?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Spending too much time on Steemit.

- STEEM COSMO: So with several tags available, what is(are) your favorite tag(s)?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: # indonesia I am so happy that people around the world are discovering Steem/it and how it can help them. It's been a privilege for me to spend the last few months working with the people in Aceh and Indonesia to grow and support their Steemit community there. I look forward to helping to support some other growing communities around the world, including in Africa.

- STEEM COSMO: Well we are all on this platform, in what ways do you feel the platform can become better?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: People should vote more on comments. It's easier to say than to do. Comments don't pay much in curation rewards, but as we move toward the communities feature, we need to encourage more in-depth discussions. sweetsssj@sweetsssj has worked extremely hard on her blog for many months now and I'm so happy to see her success. Her posts are the best example so far of Reddit-level engagement on Steemit. We need a lot more of that in other posts.

- STEEM COSMO: That was awesome, with all the daily hustling here on the platform, what advice can you give to steemians?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Ignore the daily coin price and let's keep building this place. Network, reach out to others, and help as many people as you can. Also, don't neglect opportunities outside of Steemit to bring people in who can follow and vote on your posts. In 6 months or a year from now, I think you'll be very glad you invested that time now.

- STEEM COSMO: With the damaging effects of scam on the platform, how do you feel it can be combated:
- donkeypong@donkeypong: The community needs to agree upon stopping the worst of it, acting quickly and decisively to do so. We can't and won't catch it all.

- STEEM COSMO: If you were to make a post on a different subject each day of the week, what order will it be and why?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Since I have a family and a job outside of Steemit, I've never been able to write that frequently. 1-3 times per week is my normal speed. But for content creators, I think mixing up topics and posting in some different genres is quite healthy.

- STEEM COSMO: Where do you see yourself in the next ten years?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Ten years in crypto is an eternity. It's hard to predict where things will be by then. Hopefully, we'll have Steem communities and sites and apps for just about everything. Where will I be? I'll be sitting on a tropical beach, sipping drinks, and slogging through the "New" feed, trying to find hidden gems.

- STEEM COSMO: What are your projections for steem/steemit in the next two years?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Moon.

- STEEM COSMO: How do you feel steem cosmo can improve?
- donkeypong@donkeypong: Having written one of the early features or newsletters on Steemit, I know how hard it can be to keep a series going. Interview some interesting people, ask them some edgy questions perhaps, and consider adding some other features to your series as well. Highlight a minnow, perhaps? I've tried a lot of different things on Steemit. Some have worked well and others haven't. You just have to experiment and see what members find interesting, which also can change quickly and require flexibility.

- STEEM COSMO: Before you go, kindly give a shout out to two steemians
- donkeypong@donkeypong: alcibiades@alcibiades might be the best curator on Steemit and not many people know how good he is at finding amazing content. If you want to support good content, please consider delegating him some Steem Power and/or checking his feed for some gems of great content that are not getting the rewards they deserve. https://steemit.com/@alcibiades/feed I'd also like to recognize justtryme90@justtryme90 who has continued to lead the science writers here on Steemit. Their project and trail steemstem@steemstem deserves a lot more support from the community.
