The session began with a comment from Naila’s mom: “Naila doesn’t like photos; she always closes her eyes when she smiles.” Naila didn’t add anything to our initial chat, but I wasn’t worried. I’m used to working with people who don’t know how to pose. What matters is what happens in front of the camera, and Naila told me everything I needed to know without words.
La sesión comenzó con un comentario de la madre de Naila: “A Naila no le gustan las fotos, siempre cierra los ojos cuando sonríe”. Naila, por su parte, no agregó nada a nuestra conversación inicial, pero eso no me preocupó. Estoy acostumbrado a trabajar con personas que no saben posar; lo importante es lo que ocurre frente a la cámara, y Naila me lo dijo todo sin palabras.
Once we started, the real Naila came alive. It was wonderful. She laughed a lot at my directing style, and we both felt that connection and motivation to create beautiful shots. There’s always a slight fear that clients won’t like the photos, but when I shared the final results, Naila’s mom was over the moon, which made me really happy.
Cuando comenzamos a trabajar, la verdadera Naila salió a flote. Fue hermoso. Reía mucho con mi manera de dirigir, y ambos sentimos esa conexión que motiva a sacar fotos increíbles. Siempre existe un pequeño temor de que el cliente no quede satisfecho con el material, pero cuando compartí las fotos, la madre de Naila quedó encantada, lo que me llenó de alegría.
Initially, we were only supposed to do a photo session, but I decided to bring out my charming side and pitch them the full quinceañera package for their event. After seeing the photos, they booked it, which made me even happier. This Saturday, we’ll cover the big event, and I’m confident everything will go smoothly.
Originalmente, solo íbamos a hacer la sesión fotográfica, pero aproveché para mostrarles mi lado carismático y les ofrecí el paquete de 15 años para su evento. Tras ver las fotos, decidieron contratarlo, lo que me hizo aún más feliz. Este sábado tenemos la pauta para la celebración, y estoy seguro de que todo saldrá perfecto.
