I remember this couple with great fondness. We only had the chance to do this photoshoot, and we never saw each other again, but that doesn’t take away from the connection I felt with the way they loved each other. It’s hard to find someone who loves like you do and values what you value. This couple found each other and loved, and still love, in a beautiful way.
Recuerdo a esta pareja con mucho cariño. Solo tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer estas fotos y no volvimos a vernos más, pero eso no quita que haya conectado profundamente con la manera en la que se amaban. Es difícil encontrar a alguien que ame como tú, que valore lo que tú valoras, pero ellos se encontraron y se aman, y lo siguen haciendo de una manera hermosa.
They had a simple wedding, one I didn’t attend because they didn’t hire me for that, but they did hire me for this photoshoot, which ended up being a relatively long session. At that point in my career, wedding photography obsessed me much more than it does now. I took the chance to create some good shots with them, and they didn’t hesitate or feel shy in trusting my eye to give them beautiful portraits that captured the memory of their union.
Ellos tuvieron una boda sencilla, a la que no asistí porque no me contrataron para ese día, pero sí me llamaron para hacer esta sesión de fotos. Fue una sesión relativamente larga, y en ese momento de mi carrera, la fotografía de bodas me obsesionaba mucho más de lo que lo hace hoy. Aproveché la oportunidad para hacer buenas fotos con ellos, y no tuvieron vergüenza ni dudas en confiar en mi ojo para capturar retratos hermosos que recordaran su unión.
Photography and love have some things in common: you have to be willing to look silly, not fear what others will say, give without knowing what will come of it, and hope for the best. I loved this photoshoot and cherished the time I spent with them that day.
Hacer fotografías y amar tienen cosas en común: hay que hacer el ridículo, no tener miedo al qué dirán, dar sin esperar nada a cambio y esperar lo mejor. Me encantó esta sesión de fotos y haber compartido ese día con ellos.
