Where do we see our venture in 5 years from now?

I read somewhere that a business has to set a 1-year goal, 5-year goal, and a 10-year as it progress along its journey. This is to monitor the achievements of a business and check the status of the pre-set goals. By reflecting through the progress of the venture periodically, we can assess the "health" of our business: are we on-point or are we behind our goals? These are the questions that we wanted to answer on a monthly, yearly, and hopefully in every decade of the business' existence.

It is very challenging for us to set a certain goal for a specific period of the business since what we are creating is something that was never really done before in a place where we will establish the business. A place where cryptocurrencies & blockchain technology has no influence and there is very little awareness about it. The venture will be located in Baguio city in the Philippines.

We believe that it is a suitable place to setup a food-related business because of the lower cost for labor & commodities. The challenge for us is the competitive nature of food business in the Philippines; the products are highly optimized to make it affordable for the masses. Having that in mind, we have to think about the market that we will target; are we going high-end or are we serving for the low-end costumers?

One of the consideration is to serve for the low-end consumers since we wanted to reach-out for the benefit of the masses. In addition, since we wanted to integrated Steem/SBD in our payment system, we think that it's wise to cater for the masses to let it be known by more people.

We know that it is a huge undertaking on our part however, the possibility of mass adoption is getting clearer. Let's take Starbucks as an example, they will take BTC as a form of payment for their products. And even though they made it clear that BTC won't be directly get into their system and there will be another company that will take care of the exchange of it to USD, it is a big leap for a crypto to expand it's use case other than a store of value.

So, going back to the question; we can see the full implementation of Steem/SBD to our business (EggInc) and to the other businesses (producers, retailers...etc) related to our venture and the customers are more than happy to utilize their steem in exchange for our products.

Steem-on!
