Yuriko had raised Sakai like her own child since he was little. The two of them had a favorite spot under a tree by the river. After a long time, they decided to return to that place and spend some time there.
On the way there, Yuriko tells Sakai that she has learned to create a new type of poison. It can kill humans. Hearing this, Sakai becomes intrigued and asks how much of it she can produce, as the poison could be used to fight against the Mongol soldiers.
Yuriko hesitates to agree at first. She knows that Clan Sakai is an honorable samurai clan, using poison to kill someone goes against their traditions. Sakai then explains to her that the country is in a dire state. These are not ordinary times. To fight the Mongols, he must use whatever weapon is available.
But how could the poison be administered to the Mongols? Sakai came up with an idea. He would use a blowgun and darts to deliver the poison into the body.
Making a blowgun required a specific type of leaf that was tough like plastic. Yuriko said that these leaves could be found beneath the South Old Crossing Bridge. The problem was that the Mongols had set up a camp there.
My next destination was the Old Crossing Bridge. I set off in that direction. As I neared the bridge, I spotted a massive torch burning in the distance. That was when I realized the Mongols had set up a large camp there.
I quietly entered the camp and made my way to the back. There, I spotted four Mongol soldiers. They approached me one by one and I took them all out without any trouble.
Being able to kill so many soldiers using the Standoff right at the start of the battle is a huge advantage.
I went further inside. There, I saw a few Mongols sitting by a fire, preparing food. Without wasting any time, I used an Assassin Skill to silently take two of them out. I also gathered some steel and gold from a nearby tent.
Moving further ahead, I spotted a soldier standing guard. I drew my bow from the cover of the bushes and killed him. In this way, killing the soldiers one by one, I finally reached the area beneath the Old Crossing Bridge.
Just as I was about to collect those specific leaves, two more Mongol soldiers suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
One of them was holding a strange weapon, using it to hurl something resembling fire. The moment it struck me, I burst into flames. As you can see in the image, Sakai's entire body was engulfed in fire.
My health began to drop rapidly due to the fire. So, I used Resolve to restore my health and save myself from the flames. After that, I killed that soldier as well.
But right after killing him, another Mongol soldier appeared before me. His sword was also ablaze. As soon as he struck me, I caught fire again. I used Resolve to regain my health and ultimately managed to kill that soldier wielding the flaming sword.
Without any further trouble, I collected those specific leaves from under the bridge and quickly made my way out. Now, it is to be seen how Yuriko crafts poison darts using these leaves.
