can you explain why I was visited with such a strange dream? It was evening, and I was lying on my bed in a familiar apartment, my head on my pillow. It was night and I was thinking about my life and the decisions I'm making, perhaps making. The next thing I know, I turned and looked at the clock. It was 9 PM. It now felt like early morning, the morning of a day where I will have a disease, the morning that made me realize I was alone. A creaking noise in the hallway's ceiling woke me up and, I was lying on my bed and I'm scared. I thought someone just entered the apartment. I looked out the window of my bedroom to see if it is safe, but there was no one there. So, I went to the bathroom door to see if it was safe too, then it quickly opened. I was startled. I didn't realize it could be open. I noticed a door up in the ceiling. I was so confused as to what happened.
It was morning. I pulled on my clothes, got my things and walked out the door as I was leaving for work. It was eight a.m. I got in the elevator, and went to work. All of a sudden, I was fighting for my life! I was naked in my office! There was a man wearing a mask. I called the police and they were on their way. I now remember that my name is Karen. And, I was just living the worst day of my life.
Then I woke up. I sat up in my bed breathing heavy it felt like I was swimming in the water. It was like a dream and I'm sure I just woke up from a bad one. It was breakfast time. I walked to the living room in the familiar apartment, it was now day. I remembered that I ate dinner in the living room at night. I was nervous and my eyes were wide opened. I put my hand on my chest and feel it beating. I wasn't sure if I am still alive. I rode an elevator to the roof and I saw a helicopter. I saw it leaving the roof and standing on the ground, the accident was an Arecibo, a plane that crashed on the runway. I went out and looked down on the plane in the ocean near Atlantic City Aircraft Maintenance Airport. It was a private plane. My heart fell, and I couldn't feel the air going in and out.
I was in awe of the office, it all looked familiar. It was the same office I was in the night before. There was a newspaper on the floor, and a picture of the crash and the dead bodies, I looked at it and I cried. I walked over to my bedroom door and I saw my hand traced over my heart, and I went back to the living room to see my reflection in the mirror. "I'm still alive," I said to myself and smiled.
I got up. I was all alone and didn't have anything to do with myself. I went back to the roof of my building and I started doing one of the things I was good at. I studied the birds and they were starting to fly. I lived my whole life away from nature, and I felt like I was a bird again. I was overjoyed in every bird I saw flying. I just stood there for a while, and took a deep breath of the air. I was in love with nature once again. I moved back to the apartment to get my clothes and I left the building. There was a lot of traffic, I saw the accident that just happened. A lot of people witnessed it. I saw my neighbors standing beside the ambulance. "Oh, my God," I said. I continued walking, and I saw a lot of police cars, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. I noticed three ambulances parked in front of the police cars. I wasn't sure who was inside the ambulances. I continued down the street. I heard a sound of crying. I immediately ran over to the sound. I looked over to see an old woman walking in the area, "You okay?" I asked.
She looked at me, "Yes, I just saw my granddaughter's body lying on the ground. I'm sure she's dead."
"I'm so sorry," I said.
She went back inside her apartment.
I walked up to a police officer. "My name is Karen. My apartment is near the crash site. I'm sure my refrigerator is filled with food. Could you help me get in?"
"I'll send my police officer friend over to give you a ride," the officer said. He walked off into the direction of one of the buildings with a hose in his hand. I was still standing over by the old woman's apartment. I got up and went to my car. I looked at the license plate and I remembered I had a car accident. I got in my car. I drove down the street of Atlantic City, and I saw the apartment where I locked my keys in. I didn't want anyone to walk in my apartment, so I decided to drive back home. The closer I got to my apartment, the more wind started to blow. It felt like a gale force ten wind. I was afraid I would not be able to get back to my apartment. I got in my apartment, and I locked the door behind me. I turned on the stereo, "Rockstar." It was John Lennon, and I knew it was him as soon as I heard it. I was so overjoyed. I ran and put on my clothes, and I was so happy that I remembered the song I wanted to get up to the roof. I was so glad that it was John Lennon playing.
I went back outside my door, and I stood by the window and I could see the plane crash. I felt a tingling sensation in my head, and I saw stars in my vision. I heard a voice in my head. I looked at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. "You are the daughter of the late Sally Lee." I had a vision of the old woman with her granddaughter dead on the ground. It looked like a horror movie.
