First, I think I need to give a little backstory for the song 馃槝

Roughly 3 years ago, I had the project to work on a new album, I knew the name of it (Aim茅e), but I was unsure if I had enough material to make it a full length album, and most importantly I was not confident enough to write new songs.

Then the blockchain happened, and you guys (and Steemit as much as we don't like mentioning it), and I started posting everyday, religiously, I started writing again, posting a song on dsound@dsound every morning, a video on dtube@dtube in the evening, i sharpened my skills, and even made a living out of it.

Eventually came the idea that I might be able to record a new album, it was important for me to do it on my own. Thanks to the money I made on the blockchain I bought myself a brand new computer, and the latest Cubase, and started collaborating with the most amazing people on planet earth.

Why am I repeating all this ? Well, while I was about to post a brand new video that you will discover now, I realised how much I changed in few years, and how much we all did ^^

I was a skinny boy when I started working on the album, and 40 pounds later (yep 20kg) I shaped myself, trained myself, waking up every morning a little bit earlier each day, to the point where I became obsessed with one thing. Becoming a better person, and take my family to France.

Skinny Ed in March 2018

To be honest, we were not eating much, because we were not making much money at first and really struggling to make ends meet.

But the real struggle was in the mind. We were stuck in a loop, not being able to project ourselves in the future, not being able to see more than past few days.

A gigantic work had to be done. On ourselves, in our mind, and for this we had to let go of all the fears, and being able to allow ourselves to dream big. Come to think of it, I think a part of me gave up on life, I think it's a bit harsh, I was a dad of 2 kids after all, but I was certainly content with never reaching my full potential, same for my wife, we were at peace with just becoming the shallow version of ourselves.

Something happened... It didn't happen all of a sudden, it took a lot of grinding, a lot of waking up at 5am every morning and pushing ourselves to the limit, to corners we didn't even know we could reach.

While I am writing all this, I sense how cliche it sounds, I am the type to keep these sort of things to myself, but I guess I owe what I've become to the blockchain, and I owe you all to stay honest and true to my convictions.

Back to the song.

This song started as an exercise of visualization, I remember perfectly when I started writing it. I was describing to my wife lionmom@lionmom how it feels to play in the snow, apart from a brief experience in the mountain of Lesotho in South Africa, she never fully experienced the land covered in white, the intense cold, the warmth of a fire while the first snow flakes fall on the landscape.

It was difficult at first to write a song that seemed so foreign to us, living in the dry highveld of South Africa, I myself forgot how it felt after 10 years of life in Africa.

Are you warm enough
When the lights are out
Do you need me darling
When it's cold and bright
Watching the snow falling down for the first time
Taking it slow and living the life, it's just right
We can get lost in the wild, and glide forever

What I did realize while writing the song,is that I could actually give this life to my family, if I really wanted to. To be fair, I didn't come to this realization alone, my wife is in so many ways responsible for our respective transformations, and mental toughness.

It didn't happen overnight neither, it roughly took 3 years of constant work, and a lot of reaffirmation.
How could we imagine owning a place, having a farm, watching the snow falling on the mountain, while still starving in South Africa and stuck behind our (mental) walls ? How could we afford all of this ?

The real answer is that we just did... And decided to let go off our fears. We trusted the process, knowing that little by little we would lay off the foundation, and brick by brick build the life that we wanted.

I eventually recorded a first draft of the song in South Africa, and finished it 2 months before we left, when our dream was becoming almost palpable. A series of fortunate events, an alignment of stars gave us the right push at the right time and the rest is history

Super Jacked Ed in August 2020 on our farm

It's now one of my favorite song of the album, and I know it's the same for my wife, it's almost a testimony of our commitment, to ourselves, we also proved ourselves that it really doesn't matter where we are on earth, we will fulfill our destiny, and the sky is the limit.

I really feel sometimes that we flipped reality, as if we jumped through a hole and landed in the dream life we've always wanted. It is still the early stages of this journey, I am so pumped to see what the future holds,

I used to be so envious of these success stories, I used to be the downvote you would barely notice on a post, the hater that was finding excuses for not fulfilling my destiny, because it's actually super easy (barely an inconvenience) to fail. It's much harder to raise the bar, you would actually be surprised to see what you can accomplished with a little push from fate.

Chorus
All I wanna do is loving you
It doesn't matter if it's here or there
I will follow you, yeah through and through
Back and forth I'm breathing your air
