Being grounded in Christ is a lifelong journey of faith and spiritual development and youths should start at a young age, acknowledging the existence of the Almighty God and serving Him, being grounded in the word of God and subsequently applying it in their day to day living.
How do we challenge youngsters to bring them to the ministry? We do not challenge them, we have to open their minds first to the Truth.
Acts 26:18;
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
It is the first duty of a minister like apostle Paul and the others to open the eyes of people and turn them from darkness to light. So on our own part, we are not challenging youngsters, you cannot challenge a person who doesn’t practically believe in God. You have to first open their eyes so that they can see the reality of what the Bible says and the reality of the world that they are living in.
Ecclesiastes 12:1;
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.
These are evil days and the youth has to be guided while they are still young, to serve God. They can emulate these two individuals whose lives serve as powerful examples of what can be achieved when one is grounded in Christ— Daniel and Joseph.
There are two pleasures in life, the first pleasure is offered to us while we are young and it happened to Moses.
Hebrews 11:24;
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter.
Hebrews 11:25;
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.
Hebrews 11:26;
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
Make the youths realize that they need God for any successful endeavor in life and parents also should be responsible for modeling and teaching them discipline and devotion, In all areas of their lives, especially their spiritual growth.
