Electronic music is the name given to all music created by machines, synthesizers, samplers and computers. Electronic music can be considered as music made by a computer and this is possible thanks to specialized software that can digitize, manipulate and process sounds, with the support of synthesizers.

Composers and Inventors

The movement known as "The Art of Noise" at the beginning of the century was what marked the beginning of what today is called rave culture, inspired by compositions by the mechanical and electric swing of the city. Building homemade boxes in which they incorporated the sound of sirens, bugles and whistles. As the century progressed composers like Pierre Schaeffer and Pierre Henry began to cut and paste magnetic tapes (an early example of sampling) to create pieces with bits and pieces of sounds from different sources.
