Why is upvoting yourself a thing? I feel like I have to do it to gain some traction on this site as a newbie. There are multiple page long posts about the strategy of upvoting yourself. It just seems like a toolish thing to do. I shouldn't have to upvote my own content... I'm the one who wrote it which should be an automatic upvote or not allowed in the first place.
