Those are pretty good examples.
But do they apply to this situation?
So alternative medicine has value.
Why can't this value breakout of the current monopoly?
Why has no other country found a laughably superior way of doing it?
I believe the answer is because the monopoly itself does have some value. This, in addition to it being very difficult to monetize alternative medicine (can't patent a plant), making it not scalable. The same is true with hemp and automotive. The walled garden monopoly is good enough to box in the competition and burn all bridges.
Crypto does not have this problem. Crypto IS the monetization, which is what all these other industries have been lacking this whole time. So not only will crypto breakout of the monopoly... it will also eventually jailbreak every other industry that you're talking about.
CBDC isn't going to be a system that's "good enough to work" like healthcare, hemp, or automotive. It will be a complete and unmitigated fucking disaster that has zero value whatsoever because it doesn't do anything of value that the current system doesn't already do. In fact it's worse on pretty much every metric except for settlement time. Worse, security, learning-curve, user-experience, and unknowns. And it's a conflict of interest to the entire retail banking sector so a lot of powerful people are going to be blocking it where ever they can.
Crypto, on the other hand, thrives when it gets blocked. The obstruction is crypto is exactly what it needs to force it to be decentralized and censorship resistant. We've seen this forced evolution materialize in a couple different ways now. Right now I'm paying a lot of attention to what layer one dexes are doing like Thorchain, Maya, and Serai.
