So frequently I hear individuals discuss how precisely we are moving into an age of entitlement where many feel that the world owes them not just a living but a luxurious lifestyle. Not true! Those who have this frame of mind often end up destroying relationships and facing financial problems.

It will take effort over time to build a life-time of blessings.

If you want to be wealthy you will need to invest yourself in a career or business that will prosper through the years. "Get rich quick" schemes are usually an illusion that steals your hopes and money. Those who have a financially comfortable retirement living are usually people who started out poor but worked consistently and saved a section of their earnings for many years.

If you want to travel, set your destination goal and don't go out until you have enough money to pay all the expenses that will incur. The concept of "fly now, pay later" just leaves you with plenty of bills that will take away the excitement of the travel experience when you arrive home.

If perhaps you want to enjoy good health, you're going to be smart to adopt good patterns. Eat nutritious diets, exercise your body more often, get enough sleep, and limit the amount of salt, sugar and caffeine you consume.

If you want to have good relationships with family and friends you will need to pay attention to their needs and interests as well as yours. Learning how to forgive will also help concrete the bonds and remove any bad feelings between you and others.

If you need to leave a legacy, you need to get started on planning it now. I have always been surprised by how many people never write a will. The result of neglecting this could be years of management hassle for your family and the possibility that your assets may never be used the way you think they should.

If you think the world should improve in a particular way, then get engaged. Sitting back and moaning doesn't bring peace or progress to your environment. Volunteering does.

If you are lonely, take action. Find a way to go around people. Take a course, a new skill, visit a shut-in, mentor a sport, join a club. There are over seven billion people in the world and many of them would wish to have a friend like you!

If you have been hurt find a way to heal. Exploration options. Consult with specialists. Speak with those who have overcome similar problems. Set a health goal and commence moving towards it.

If you want to downsize or clean up a sloppy area in your life, start now!. Break it down into small manageable pieces and start taking action... Even an hour a day can make huge improvement on a neglected project.

Maturity does not always come with age. As you take responsibility for your circumstances without expecting other people to meet all of your preferences and needs, you will enjoy healthy pride and a soul of independence. It's not about growing older. It is about growing up!
