September 25th, Hard Fork 20 Day. Steemit was unusable, I had negative resource credits and like many others my voting mana was drained. I was pretty bored and looking for different activities while the platform recovered from the buggy update. I had some spare money from an Airbnb rent that we got the previous weekend so I decided to browse Steam, the gaming platform. I was looking for a Role Playing Game that my laptop could handle and I found CrossCode. It was the first time I heard about this game, it was just released a few days earlier on September 20 after more than three years on Early Access. I made some research, saw a few reviews and game plays and decided that this game was perfect for me. I bought it for 154 MXN (less than 9 USD). I started playing and I loved it. CrossCode is an independent game developed by Radical Fish Games.

This is not a review of the game, I haven't finished it and I feel like I have a lot to play. This is a game recommendation, if you like Action RPG's with great story and you also feel nostalgic of the 90's decade, this might be a game for you. The game has 16 bits graphic style and it is heavy inspired by games like Chrono Trigger, Legend of Mana and Final Fantasy games that came out for the SNES. The soundtrack is amazing

On this game you follow the story of Lea, a player or avatar on a fictional MMO game from a distant future. She lost her voice and from the beginning is helped by the games admins to try to recover her lost memories. This is a single player game but it feels like a real MMO because you can add people to your party and you really bond with those characters as you would on the real thing. So far I've only added Emilie or Emilinator to my party and I just cleared the first real dungeon. I have to say that the dungeon/temple was pretty hard to beat, it was very long and with a lot of puzzles and enemies to beat. I didn't mind that it was difficult becase beating the enemies and solving the puzzles was very satisfying.

The combat system is very dynamic, it is not turned based, you can engage with the enemies as you please and you can also flee battles at anytime, unless it's a story battle or a Boss. You can do ranged attacks, melee and also special attacks that consume SP. Enemies drop items that you can use to trade for potions, weapons or armor. As you progress in the game and level up you can spend circuit points on different skills and abilities. The tree of skills is pretty large and it covers four five Combat Arts, Neutral and four elements, Heat, Cold, Shock and Wave. So far I've only unlocked Heat, that's why I say I still have a lot to play. I will definitely share my progress in the future. Right now I can only share some screenshots that I took and a few sites where you can find more information of the game:

First let me share the Game Wiki. The game is new and the wiki is expanding, but feel free to contribute after you've played the game.

Here you can check the game on the Steam Store. I got the game with a little discount but maybe in the near future it will have a bigger discount.

So far I've enjoyed the game a lot. Besides the cool and attractive story the game has a lot of side missions or quests that are keeping me very entertained and are also helping me level up fast and beat my enemies easier.

Let me know in the comments if this is your kind of game too or if you have already played it what do you think about the game. Other thing that caught my attention is that the games is developed on HTML5, I'm not a game programmer or developer but that made me think that maybe a game like this one could be developed on top of the Steem Blockchain, that would be awesome.

That's all for today!

Keep Steeming!
