Es un juego que puso una línea en el antes y después de los juegos de carrera, con una historia y con un modo de juego que no tenía nada que envidiar a otros juegos.
Este salió en 1999 como un título de carreras con temática de Crash Bandicoot, por las manos de naughty dog y sony.

Esta es una historia muy sencilla en la cual nitro oxide busca detener el tiempo completamente y los personajes principales intentan que él no lo logre atreves de carreras para decidir el destino del tiempo.
Esa vendría siendo la premisa de este juego algo muy sencillo pues en realidad la mayor atención recae en su jugabilidad.
This is a very simple story in which nitro oxide seeks to stop time completely and the main characters try to stop him from achieving it through races to decide the fate of time.

Crash Team Racing es un título que trajo muchas innovaciones que otros títulos adoptarían con el tiempo.
Basándose en carreras con circuitos cerrados en los que obtienes poderes atraves de cajas en el mapa, con los cuales puedes frenar a tus oponentes o dar un pequeño empujo en tu propio vehículo.
Se parece mucho a Mario Kart, pero este incluye un aspecto que no se vería sino años después en Mario Kart y es el derrape con turbo,
Puede parecer una tontería, pero el incluir el derrape en el juego da mayor variedad en los estilos de juego pues si sabes dominar el derrape definirá mucho si ganas o pierdes una partida, así como la habilidad del jugador de esquivar proyectiles enemigos y usar el mapa a su favor.

Based on races with closed circuits in which you get powers through boxes on the map, with which you can slow down your opponents or give a little push in your own vehicle.
It looks a lot like Mario Kart, but this one includes an aspect that would not be seen until years later in Mario Kart and that is the turbo skidding,
It may seem silly, but including drifting in the game gives more variety in the styles of play because if you know how to master the skid will define much if you win or lose a game, as well as the player's ability to dodge enemy projectiles and use the map to their advantage.
Crash Team Racing es uno de los pioneros en incluir personajes de una saga en un juego de carreras, y para muchos de nosotros fue un juego que dio muchos recuerdos y buenos ratos en la PlayStation 1.
Ya sea al jugar el cooperativo o el modo historia este juego era muy divertido y ahora es un clásico de los juegos de carreras.

Crash Team Racing is one of the pioneers in including characters from a saga in a racing game, and for many of us it was a game that gave many memories and good times on the PlayStation 1.
