My twins girls were born in New Zealand through a "last round" of IVF, there were several heartbreaks prior.
If there were ever two Kiwis to prove 'Nothing ventured, nothing gained' (not sure who said that), my daughters could serve as examples. I'm biased, of course.
Fraternal twins, one grew more vigorously than the other - 'squashing' her sister into a breached position the last trimester, but they made it to 37 weeks and the doctor suggested we get them out asap.
The moment they were out, 4 years of "trying" were resolved. It's truly a miracle and we are forever grateful to all of the doctors who assisted in our journey.
To those thinking of trying or in the midst of trying, I understand the anguish and complete devastation that can be involved, so I offer you this #weekend #freewrite story.
