Not many are aware, but a new hardfork called Bitcoin Diamond recently occurred on the Bitcoin network, which was initiated by a group of anonymous developers.
The Twitter account of the project tweeted that the hardfork took place on block 495866 and the new cryptocurrency is already supported by 28 exchanges. The #cryptocurrency is traded under the BCD ticker symbol.

A #hardfork is a specific modification of code that changes the structure of a block or allows you to use previously inadmissible #blocks, that is, a modification of the #Bitcoin protocol.
On the website of the OKEx exchange, on November 22, a post was published about adding BCD to the list of cryptoccurencies of the trading platform and charging a new cryptocurrency according to the balance of bitcoins on user wallets in the ratio 1:10 (1 BTC = 10 BCD), since the Bitcoin Diamond token issuance is ten times larger than the maximum token cap of the original Bitcoin.

The identity of Bitcoin Diamond developers is unknown, but it is known that there are only three of them: "EVEY", "007" and one more person who did not even reveal a pseudonym.

According to the developers, from the original Bitcoin cryptocurrency, Bitcoin Diamond differs by a tenfold increase in the maximum amount of tokens emitted on the network, has a block size of 8 MB, and it is also secured by a different #mining/#hashing algorithm.
Initially, Bitcoin's cryptocurrency was divided into two separate currencies - Bitcoin (Original) and Bitcoin Cash. Later, Bitcoin Gold appeared.
Those who hold a small amount in bitcoins should not worry too much; you can just follow the development of the situation. However, those that have a lot of funds in Bitcoin should probably at least consider taking a proactive step and think about transferring part of the Bitcoins into another cryptocurrency in order to diversify and hedge any unknown future risks that may be caused by these hardforks, some experts advise.
