There are many attractions ins Dalaguete and this one of them. In Mantalongon, Dalaguete (pronounced “Dalaget”), standing at 1,013m above sea level, is Osmeña Peak — the highest mountain in Cebu. Named after the native Osmeña clan — one of the oldest and most established political dynasties in the Philippines — the peak is one of many craggy hills that make up the Mantalongon mountain range. This group of mostly unnamed peaks stretches as far as the municipality of Badian, and is considered a twin to Bohol’s Chocolate Hills.

How to get there:

  • Take a bus from south bus terminal. Oslob bound. Fare is around 106 pesos and 3 hours travel time.
  • From Dalaguete you need to ride a habal-habal (motorbike) going to the trail head. 400 pesos round trip fare for 2 persons. If you're alone you would still pay 400. So it's better if you have company. Travel time would be around 45 minutes to an hour.
  • At the trail head before hiking you need to sign in the log book and pay 30 pesos entrance fee at the hiker's center. Then a local guide would be around 150 pesos.
  • Hiking would be easy. It'll take 20-30 minutes only.
  • If you want to stay overnight you can for 50 pesos. Make sure you have your own tent.

When we were ther it was cold and foggy. We would wait for the sun to appear then take pictures. It is nice spot to wait for the sunset.
