Daily Quest: Water Challenge

Screenshot (8).png

A week ago I finally joined Splinterlands and I am hooked! While I love playing with my water cards, they are being rented out. Each day, I am doing my daily quests with of course the quest potions stocked up. I will also attempt to make posts like these to show how Splinterlands at the base level using just the phantom cards is fun without being a big time card hodling og from 3 years ago. Playing at Bronze 3 has no shame in it and doing the daily quests also makes you a much better player at Splinterlands!

Today was a Water Quest Challenge.

Battle 1 of 5

Using Alric as an offensive summoner is fun but being able to better place my cards in key positions has allowed for me to use Bortus in a defensive manner more so than not which can be beneficial against other players using Alric already.

I love coming in with a high melee, high health and armor water monster splinter like SERPENT OF ELD and backing him up with a melee monster that can attack from the second position like Grumpy Dwarf. I messed up though, usually I put a higher health ranged attack monster at the end. This time I put Ice Pixie with 1 health at the end. Normally, I would put her where I put Sniping Narwhal who has a higher health and can take a lot more of a beating than cute lil 1 health 3 speed Ice Pixie. As you might notice, The Crustacean King is a card I used in most of these battles. I usually place him second to last in between my last two cards to fortify my first card each round with added health.

Thankfully, with this battle I still won despite improper card placement. Bortus helped offset my mistake.

Battle 2 of 5

With this battle it was lower mana set and my opponent was not likely to use any water cards for this battle, judging from the pre game statistics. Using the Bortus summoner would not be ideal without using as a counter for Alric. I choose Alric for this battle.

I decided to come in guns a blazing but this time with low melee, high health and high armor Spineback Turtle. Using Spineback, I was able to place a higher health Elven Mystic at the last position in order to take advantage of the +1 magic and higher health than pixie, since she has a mana of 4. As you can see Crustacean King has helped me win again!

Battle 3

Admittedly, I forgot to look at my opponent's previous matches to determine the best summoner to use this battle. Since Alric is so hot right now I went with Bortus. I love Snipping Narwhal at the last position protecting Mr. King. Having high health and high hit range monsters as well as placement of cards helped the limited abilities of my summoner to achieve victory here.

Battle 4

Always check your pre game statistics for your opponent! I forgot again and for previous mentioned reasons I went with Bortus. It is so easy to just go and go with this game and not check tiny details.

My Serpent and Crustacean king teamed up nicely to make up for my mistake.

Battle 5

Even though I came in with Alric, who boosts all magic monsters I still came into battle without any magic monsters, it was on purpose. This is where the game is fun. Trying to come in and win with strategy and maybe make other opponent use summoners or mana with cards that offset magic while your snipe cards chip away at the back cards.

Although, I will admit my opponent here did not pick or place their cards properly. Ultimately, this helped me win my final quest.

Water rewards 8-24-21.gif

Today, I got a small bounty but the ones prior was juicy. I can not complain.

My Quest rewards today from the Chests:

2- Legendary potions
1- Alchemy potion
1- Ant Miners card
20- Dark Energy Crystals

Thanks as Always for making it this far in my post!
