The story The hunter's instinct by thinkrdotexe@thinkrdotexe is full of suspense as the hunter takes on a journey into the mud in search for a bounty. The adventure in the proving ground is messy, only the cunning, and ruthless one survives. The hunter in his adventure came across Turner Jenkins, a young boy who became his partner in his quest hoping to have a percent of the hunter's bounty. Many challenges lie in the swamp of muds with smudges as they encounter difficult decisions to take. Only the instincts of the hunter would ensure his success. Would the hunter succeed or fall like the Novice hunter, would the young boy betray him in the long run, or would the instincts of the hunter fail him? There's a lot to know as thinkrdotexe@thinkrdotexe unveiled each instinct in six chapters. I dare you to read the story and not become ruthless like the hunter.

Thrill of the hunter: Chapter 1
Surge of thoughts flood a hunter's mind who had crouched himself in a mud . He remembers the word of his father which still cling to his memory, he had said

Preparation is one thing that sets the good hunters apart from the dead ones.

Emotion and attachment are luxury, a very expensive one for a hunter, this he had thought as he wiped a smudge of mud off a rifle he had taken from a novice hunter who had been defeated by a plague at the opening of a rift.
Distracted by a grunt from a figure shuffling in the brush, the hunter aimed his rifle in the direction. This hunter is cunning, ruthless, and focused- that's how a hunter should be right? Through the foliage and gnarled root he sees a figure moving and soon after sees a body thudding against the ground. Now he has a clear shot but left with a decision to make.

The kid: Chapter 2
Left with two choices, the hunter suppressed the urge to pull the trigger and engaged in a dialogue with the stranger. Amidst the communion , the hunter recognized the name Turner Jenkins People said he was a street rat that could start a fight at the drop of a feather, then turn tail and run just as easily. The hunter had proposed the idea of partnership to help him secure the bounty he had came for while the kid Turner Jenkins takes a percent from it. 30% was fine for them both, but the issues of trust still lie, should the hunter trust the kid?.

An unlikely companion: Chapter 3
The hunter motions for Turner to take the lead in the water filled with mud. It was as they struck a conversation that Turner revealed he was in the brush for a reason. They approached an abandoned makeshift close to a dilapidated building, and moved slowly scuffing through the muds under the water when Turner Jenkins hit the trigger. The hunter, pissed , reprimanded the young boy only to see what looked like a lifeless body floating on the water; it was a grunt. They ran for cover in the nearest shack, adrenaline coursing through their veins as bullets whizz through the hunter's ear. Puzzled on what to do, continue running or fight back? It all seemed like a dead end.

Life or Death:Chapter 4
The assailant kept shooting at them as they hid in one of the shacks. There was no way they'd make it alive if they had no plans and the hunter suggested they distracted the assailant. He asked the young boy to run between the shacks in the cemetery while he stayed back to catch a good glimpse of the assailant. Luck must have been on their side as the bullet fired from the grunt penetrated areas in the boardwalk where their body wasn't positioned. The hunter fired back at a small figure in the dark and soon there was silence. On reaching there, he noticed a woman with long black hair, and a braided back. He wondered what a woman was doing on a proving ground. No doubt the proving ground was brutal and was for people with gut and lack of brains or insane enough to enter the hunters collective.
Something about him feels fundamentally offensive hunting a woman. She lay there breathing softly with wounds. He stared at her wondering if to leave her there in the mud bleeding .

A damsel in distress: Chapter 5
The hunter, concerned about the almost lifeless body of the woman, dressed the wound with some iodine. Skeptical about why he chose to save her even when a few hours ago she had shot at him, was it because she was a woman? He thought. Turner, his partner, also was concerned about her. They took her to a place in town and sought for a Doctor who recommended the hunter for using gunpowder in the process of his treatment. He watched the damsel who was recovering lying peacefully, but as he sat on an armchair, he worried where to fall asleep.

The night's watch: Chapter 6
A peep through the dirty pane window where the hunter is resting reveals a crowd gathered in a sheriff town, chattering about their agenda to rule the world. Their uproar drew the sheriff's attention who sneaked to observe what was happening only to lock eyes with one of the grunts. When the sheriff knew the grunt had noticed his presence shot at it only to attract the attention of the others. The town becomes haunted by the grunts as they chase after the sheriff. The hunter woke Turner who was deeply asleep, the decision was left on him whether to leave Turner who he was yet to trust with the damsel undergoing medication while he goes out to shoot at the grunts or remain calm.
