Sometimes the Most Beautiful Moments Come When We Finally Let Our Guard Down
I have been trying hard to imagine a beautiful thing I either saw or that happened to me specifically last month, and it's difficult to picture one. Even though change is constant and we encounter different things every day, we rarely come across a moment that we can describe as beautiful—worse for an introvert like me who finds comfort indoors. But while I allowed my mind to search through and through, I realized I actually had a beautiful moment, more like a grateful moment with a friend, and that's what I'm about to share. The moment is beautiful to me because it came unexpectedly and it was a surprise to me.
After my engagement, I have been trying to save up money for wedding ads and also pay for things for the wedding ceremony. It's not as easy as I assumed. A lot of things seem to go wrong even financially, making everything even harder. When it was obvious that I couldn't do most things on my own, I told myself I needed help. I'm not the kind of person who likes to bother people financially because I understand no one is finding it easy, so I struggled with the thought for a very long time.
Sometimes last month, I decided I needed to let my guard and pride down and ask a friend to lend me money instead. It took me a week to compose the message because I kept clearing it each time I typed. Finally, I did, after editing it so it wouldn't sound as if I expected him to help. We knew each other way back from service days until he traveled to the U.S., and I've been careful not to ask him for anything so he wouldn't feel like I'm taking advantage of his current location.

Fortunately, he had been desperately waiting to return years of favors, which I kept turning down each time he wanted to support me. Finally, I asked, and I told him to lend me money instead. He didn't argue; he told me to let him know when I needed the money. So the last week of last month, I told him I needed the money the first week of this month on a specific day, and he affirmed he would send it a day before the date. So I started planning, hoping to pay him back as scheduled.
Lo and behold, the money came in with a message that followed, announcing that he didn't lend me the money but gave it to me freely, and that's just part of what he wanted to do for me, with more coming. I couldn't believe my eyes. The money was huge, yet he gave it freely and even promised to send more before the occasion as his actual support for the ceremony. I felt blessed and happy at the same time. I wasn't expecting it, and it came as a huge surprise. But above all, he wants us to be business partners, creating a job opportunity that would support me as I take another chapter in my life. It was the most beautiful thing that happened to me last month.
