This prompt made a song play in my head as I was about to start writing, a song by Benson Boone titled "Beautiful Things" and it explores appreciating the little things that make one's life beautiful. No doubt, God has made everything beautiful and said it was good but we need more intentionality to observe and notice the beautiful.
I say that because in as much as I love beautiful things happening to me and people around me, I had not really saw much to appreciate until I started to journal about my daily activities. Even though many days were normal or felt like it, something beautiful always happens and my journal reminds me of the few ones I write down.
So honestly, I couldn't start thinking of much beautiful things that had happened last month on my own until I thought about reading through my journal content in the last month, the read was both surprising and expected. So yeah, I think it's a beautiful thing already that I can have beautiful moments captured in a private space to rewind.
While going through my journal of last month, I saw a progression of beauties worthy of note but one surpassed all of them for me because it had a lot to do with what I had prayed for in the beginning of the year and it came in towards the end of the year, a time I had thought there's no much days left in the year for anything to happen.
Some little but noteworthy beautiful things in the month of October for me is a watching kids being kids. I know this may come off as something very simple or regular but it came on me so strong that period that I had to journal it. I was part of a commitment that required recieving kids coming with their parents for a week, it opened my eyes.
I could not help but smile, feel grateful and somewhat wishing I had what they are having... Kids having their families care so much about their health in every aspects and them being comfortable to act as the children that they are. I watched them from the angle that they are so blessed even if they might not see it that way.
I also had a beautiful time visiting beautiful places in Rivers state for the first last month, "Opobo Kingdom" and "Bonny Island". Both places had wonders to behold, large rivers and beautiful structures even though they were small places. The travel experience was just as beautiful too, the roads were just constructed.
And for the most beautiful thing that happened to me last month, although I don't have much story to tell about it yet, is that someone who barely know me decided to invest in my growth with a big sum of money into a program that has high potential of changing my life for the better. Not surprising, I am already seeing changes and I can not wait to be the best investment he has had.
