The upcoming reward system in Splitterland has been a hot topic of discussion among many people lately. It's not a new concept as people have been talking about it for years. The good news is that splinterlands has finally made changes to the existing system, which shows that they have been listening to everyone's feedback. As per the latest update, it's been revealed that you won't be able to sit down in just one league anymore as you'll automatically move up in the leaderboard. This change has surprised some people.
Since everyone will be moving up automatically, there won't be any rewards for being in the lower league because there won't be a leaderboard for them anymore. However, the Champions League still offers rewards for the leaderboard, which some people have argued is a good thing because most leaderboard winner immediately sells their DEC. While there is some truth to this, it's worth noting that the amount of Dec being sold each season is significant, and the rewards for the board winners of each league don't add up to much in comparison. That being said, there have been ongoing discussions about the need for a max-level card which I believe is where the change will have an impact.
The need for max level card
Rumor has it that you'll be playing your max-level card at any league, regardless of whether you're in the Silver League, Gold League, or any other league. This could have a significant impact since some players with a powerful max-level card choose to stay in lower leagues for the leaderboard reward. However, now that the leaderboard is only available in the Champions League, players will have a chance to move up and earn rewards higher on the general leaderboard.
People will be able to use their Max level card at any league, which means that when they come up against people who don't have their card maxed up, they will always have an advantage over them, which means the demand for Max level card will increase because people will be trying to boost their chances of winning. After all, we have people who have so many cards in their deck that they're not maxing up just because they are playing in a lower league, but now, with the new system, it is designed for everybody to Max their card so that they can play at higher league.
Rental market will blow up
When the need for people to have a Max level card comes into play, two things will happen, people will rather buy a card and max up their deck or people will choose to go for rentals, which are much cheaper and more affordable, and I believe that the rental market will blow up because there isn't much Max Level card in the market for people to rent even though we have tons of card out there, especially Chaos Legion sets that are overprinted which I believe with this implementation, this will suck up their liquidity because people will be The rental market will blow up.
With the new system, the rental market will flourish because most people will rely on renting just because it is cheaper and it is a better option instead of owning an expensive card you can just rent it for a penny. Even though that is my theory, we should wait until everything comes alive in a few days. Will this change affect the rental market and the game in general? Let's wait and see. I'm excited about this change because it is a win-win for everybody in the game.
Thanks for your time.
