The Splinterlands season has ended, and once again, I'm finding it increasingly challenging to compete in the Champions League. The main issue seems to be the improvement of bots and the growing competition at the top of the league. I've noticed new and diverse strategies being employed in the game, likely due to the introduction of a new reward set. Players are finding ways to make the most of these rewards and are becoming more competitive. It's become clear that observing how others use their reward cards and adapting those strategies can make a significant difference. Every lost battle means losing money, so it's wise to observe various strategies and identify the most effective ones. Once a common and effective strategy is identified, it's best to apply it.
I've noticed that there has been an increase in the SPS and Glints rewards. Many people have been comparing the rewards in the Wild format to those in the Modern format. The rewards are getting closer, and the higher you climb in the league, the more SPS you can earn. This is because fewer people are able to afford running boats due to the 2000 DEC required for the Wild Pass. As a result, there are fewer people competing for the rewards, causing them to increase every day. When compared to the Modern format, the rewards are very close, but you need more SPS in the Wild format.
How do you pay
Paying 2000 DEC every 14 days is not easy, and sometimes it can be difficult for me. The only way I can afford this payment is by converting my SPS earnings into DEC. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for those who plan to use the rent to survive in the game, as they have to rent SPS, rent good quality cards, and also pay for wild passes, which seems very expensive. If I didn't have an SPS stake, I wouldn't be able to afford the wild pass. I'm able to afford this because I earn a good amount of SPS every season. I know most people would love to know if paying for the wild pass is really worth it, but for now, I cannot say yes or no.
At the current price of SPS, paying 2000 DEC for a wild pass doesn't seem worth it. This means you would be paying more than 50% of what you are earning back to the game. However, if you look at it with a long-term mindset and consider the possibility of the price of SPS increasing 3x or 4x, then you would realize the value of what you are earning now. If your plan is to rent your way up, it may turn out to be very expensive and you might not get back what you spent unless you make it to the top 20 in the league, which would likely require even more spending. It's often difficult for me to pay the 2000 DEC, but that's the only way I can get back into competing in the game.
My strategy
I have the same strategy as before, I want to earn more in-game currency (glints) and use it to buy more cards. This will improve my deck and ultimately earn me more points in the long run. This season, I acquired some good cards, which means I am gradually upgrading my deck. In a few months, I should be able to max out some of them.
thanks for your time.
