Hello everyone!
Here again posting about a street mural that I have seen in this community StreetArt and I would like to join this week's contest (in extreme, these are the last hours!), CCC's Street Art Contest #126 hosted by @digi-me, thanks for the initiative!
You can see more about this contest and its rules, in his post here: CCC's Street Art Contest #126 | 100% Liquid Payout and ecency points as Prize Pool & Winners of #125
I come back again with another mural seen in the city of Santander, in the north of Spain, again. During my trip I was able to discover several and I have already shared one of them here two weeks days ago CCC's Street Art Contest #124 - To put off death
But we come back with something different, because walking through any city, especially those that we barely know, we suddenly come across something unexpected. Normally we expect buildings, churches and monuments, or some nice view. But not always, visual works of art such as large murals on the walls that thus attract our attention.
And it has happened again, this time what catches our attention is curiously a dot, but not in color but rather in black and white. Normally it is the color that stands out the most, but here the contrast between white and black in the central area, and all the surrounding color makes that point of contrast stand out more. Paradoxes of visual effects.
It is an urban work by Fabio Petani (2019) and that we can find it also on the Santander Creativa website. And we find it as I have mentioned in the Spanish city of Santander. Specifically, on Santa Clara street, we can see it there with a good perspective because the street is sloping, and as we gently descend, we get closer to this image.
And what do we see?
We see nature in somewhat disordered harmony, leaves and trees that acquire a certain depth, with soft and vivid colors. With more linear shapes like the yellow curved line that suddenly breaks with the whole. And as the central axis, a color void, nature with another filter, in black and white, which acquires more relevance than the rest of the work.
Thus, the entire work is made up of different elements (even chemical elements: "Calcium carbonate" is also written there) that without apparent sense or order acquire their own space and endow the whole with a surprisingly well-achieved but unexpected harmony.
At the end, another walk in which we find an unexpected mural, inspired by nature but with shapes, colors and an idea that originally come together in a different large mural.
Thanks for reading! Have a harmonic and unexpected day.
