The 100meter is one of the most common running people do in athletics (track and field). The winner of the 100meter at the Olympics is declared the world's fastest. A 100meter sprinter is a powerful strong and explosive athlete.Unfortunately many people run the race unprepared hoping that they will do well.
Here are some tips to help you run a good 100meter.
SETTING THE STARTING BLOCK
Red-Track-Spikes.jpg
Angle of the block pedal should be at 45 degrees, also the block should be set prior to your power leg. Your power leg must always be at the front if not you are getting it wrong, also your hand should be behind the starting line and your head must be faced down, and your whole body should rest on your hands so as to get out of the block with power.

GETTING OUT OF THE STARTING BLOCK

A good reaction is the key to getting out of the block, also being very attentive that is not having diverted attention so as to hear the pistol. When athletes get out of the starting block they press the back pedal powerfully so as to propel them out of the block and they swing their arms in opposite direction. The hips also extend to bring the body to an angle of 45 degrees from the ground. When this is done correctly you should see a straight line from the the front block foot through the athletes body. Athletes drive at a 45degree angle through the first 30 - 60 meters.
ACHIEVING MAXIMUM SPEED
This refers to the highest speed an athlete can attain or achieve, but only for a while before deceleration sets in. In order to maximize your potential speed, you need to accelerate well out of the starting block. If your starting velocity is not long enough you will decelerate faster in the race before the end of the 100 meters.

MAINTAINING YOUR SPEED
This is the most tedious part of the 100meters also, this tells your results right before the end of the race. Endurance is the key factor here. This happens to all athletes not just yourself. Even USAIN BOLT slowly decelerated towards the end of his race when he set the new world record 9.58seconds in the 100m.

FINISH
As they approach the line they all bend their heads and shoulders to enter the finish, "this is called deep" not all athletes do it but most athletes do. Helps to gain advantage perhaps you are dragging with a fellow athlete if you deep you could beat that athlete to the finish.
