On May 2, Dispatch announced a series of photos of Park Jin Young, president of JYP Entertainment, and Bae Yong Joon at a concert hosted by Park Jin Young in Seoul, Korea. This paper confirms Park's propaganda for Salvation Sect. In addition to this, Dispatch said Bae Yong Joon was also eating with Park Jin Young in the sect.
Through the agency, Bae Yong Joon insisted that he was not a Salvation Sect. On his personal page, Park confirmed that the Dispatch was a bible lecture he had organized, not the Salvation Sect meeting. Some people claiming to be members of this cult are interested in joining the program. Park Jin Young has stated that he will seek legal action.
Salvation Sect is a controversial denomination in Korea. In 2014, some sources said that the sect was related to the cause of the False Ferry overturned. Sewol ferry owner Yoo Byung Eun founded the sect. Park Jin Young's wife is Yoo Byung Eun's grandson.
Sewol's accident on April 16, 2014 caused 292 deaths, Yoo Byung Eun fled and was wanted by Korean police. On June 11, 2014, about 6,000 police searched a church in southern Seoul and arrested three suspected helpers. Yoo Byung Eun is also accused of embezzlement, illegal business and tax evasion. In July 2014, police discovered Yoo Byung Eun for unknown reasons. Many of his family were arrested.
