The Guinness Book of World Records is a strange one and you never really know what you are going to get in there. One of the guys in the book has the world record for holding the most world records and all of the world records that he holds are in something quite silly like for example, balancing a push lawn mower on his head for the longest amount of time.

We could talk about how these records are completely idiotic and they likely only exist in the first place so that the drink company could sell some books and get their name permanently embossed into history all over the world, but as they say, "it is what it is."

A man from Kosovo (I forgot that was a country) recently broke the world record for the most shirts ever put on while continually bouncing a football on his head. The previous world record was 14, which is already ridiculous, but he managed to get 17 on and probably could have done more.

His name is Agim Agushi and he is a math professor in his 50's. I bet he gets a lot of fame from his students for being able to do something cool like this.

He was asked about why he chose to do 17 instead of more, or just doing the 15 required to break the existing record and he responded with an answer that taught me something I really don't need to know: "Putting on 17 T-shirts corresponds to 17 February, which is the Independence Day of my country, Kosovo."

Well how about that?

In order to be eligible for the record you must remain inside of a certain space as is indicated by the tape on the floor, and you cannot at any point come in contact with the ball using anything other than one's own head.

This isn't the only record he has by bouncing a football. He has 3 other ones including an incredible one where he puts on and removes a t-shirt a certain amount of times while continually bouncing the ball on his head. How many times did he put on and take off a shirt you ask? A staggering 164 times.

The person whose record he broken when putting on 17 T-shirts wasn't very upset about the record being broken, because it is the same guy.

There isn't any money associated with Guinness World Records. The dude gets to go on TV shows every now and then and has some level of minor celebrity, but mostly this guy is just a dedicated math teacher that happens to be a huge fan of the sport. I know very little about football as I am not really a fan, but his favorite team is Manchester United. That's pretty common I think, even here in the USA.

I don't think you need to be a fan of anything to appreciate the level of dedication that would be required to pull something like this off though.

I think I would be able to bounce a football on my head 2 to 3 times total and even this would require a great deal of focus on my part. Forget about putting on shirts while doing it. What about you?
