Café para empezar el día concurso #102 [ESP-ENG] Coffee to start the day contest #102

Every morning my day starts in the kitchen, making the coffee; that fuel that puts my family in motion. I make enough for everyone, I pour a large cup for each of them. Afterwards, everyone manages their cup of coffee as she wants.
Coffee or tea? I would say coffee in the morning, also a little in the afternoon; but a relaxing tea is ideal for when night falls.
The coffee in the morning is strong, to wake us up and start the day with energy, but the one in the afternoon is, as my mom says, a guayoyo. We drink black coffee at home, it is very rare that we prepare a coffee with milk, since we rarely buy milk. We have become accustomed to excluding it from our pantry and only buy it on special occasions.
I remember that there was a time during the scarcity that we did not have enough for coffee, despite the fact that in Venezuela it is not as expensive as in other countries, its value sometimes exceeds our purchasing power. At that time we were looking for alternatives to replace it. I remember preparing cocoa husk infusion for my family, which is rich in vitamins and contains some caffeine. The idea was to replace the addictive coffee and see if we could avoid the headache that lack of coffee causes. The truth is that cascarilla tea worked quite well, but coffee is coffee.
In the afternoon or at night I like to combine some of the herbs from the garden in some tea, it is cheaper than buying tea bags. Among my favorites are Melissa with a few drops of lemon or lemongrass with just a little sugar. It is also very rich with honey.
Some of my visitors don't drink coffee, so it's very easy for me to prepare a delicious infusion just by going out to the patio for some leaves. From the garden to the cup.
