It always amazes me to see where food comes from. What it really looks like before it gets to the grocery store. We went to a farm near Princeton, NJ where asparagus was growing out of the ground just one stalk at a time. Some were even taller than my son. I expected there to be a lot of leaves surrounding them or something. Instead I saw this barren field with asparagus looking exactly as it looks in the grocery store. Not extra pruning or anything. I was proven wrong.
