I just found out that Pokemon Go was released on this day one year ago. It's crazy how this app exploded immediately after its release and actually set five Guinness World Records. Let's check out which ones.
Initially launched on 6th of July 2016 in USA, Australia and New Zealand and on 13th of July started its journey in Europe. It generated astonishing $206.5 million revenue throughout first month of release.
No shit sherlock? 130 million times to be exact.
It was on top of the list in 70 different countries in its first month.
Well where's smoke there's fire they say.
Broken after 20 days on 26th of July.
According to developer Niantic, 65 million people play the game each month (number is from April 2017). App got it's first big update later in June which included gym improvements boss battles. I still think that this game is dead and won't bring people to streets anymore like last summer. Maybe I'm wrong.
What do you think about this game? Do you love it, play it, hate it?
Fun fact (not so fun but still a fact): you can actually follow how many people got injured or died while playing Pokemon Go -> http://pokemongodeathtracker.com
