I draw the line at owning shares in companies like Palantir or Lockheed Martin, but I don't mind rational speculation on commodities. It is only fair, since all the power companies likely did the same when new came down about the war. I'm hoping we get back up close to $90 barrels. That's my target and if it hits I will have earned more money than I did teaching the first three months of the year. Finance is ridiculous. I hate derivatives, it has ruined the market by creating "paper" products.
I had no idea you were a True Blood buff. My freshman year at college I was good friends with Jim Parrack, the actor who played Hoyt Fortenberry. I've met up with him a few times since his big HBO breakthrough. Good dude. Knows how to party!
I never actually finished the series the first time around, falling off after Season 6 when I divorced my first wife and best reason to watch the show. It has been fun getting back into it to see how the final season unfolds.
