Well, I had a great weekend with my partner. We both saw our favorite dubstep artist, Subtronics, host back-to-back raves at the biggest warehouse venue in Brooklyn, The Brooklyn Storehouse. He had a great selection of support for the Friday and Saturday night shows.
For Friday's show, we got to hear Avello and Juelz each play an hour set before Subtronics took the stage from 1.30 to 3am. For Saturday's show, we got to hear Blossom and TroyBoi play hour-long sets before Subtronics once again took over the 1.30 to 3am timeslot. The venue stayed open until 5am with two more DJs playing after Subtronics, but both nights, we were pretty gassed by 3am without any stimulants to help our cause. Curious about what a Subtronics set sounds like? Check this out!
When we weren't busy clubbing, I was watching Prem League soccer while she slept in, and then once she woke up, we watched the HBO series, True Blood, about vampires who are "out of the coffin" because a synthetic blood drink is available for them to have sustenance without feeding on humans. We've been binging the show over the last few weeks and only have a few episodes left in the seventh and final season.
focused on oil reliance
First thing I did when I woke up on Saturday and heard about the bombing was buying some oil futures. That's already shown some nice growth and I'm looking for a big run up as the oil shipping routes through the Middle East are in peril. Sounds pretty awful to profit from war, but when in Rome... amirite?
