The steps keep coming along as I pushed my streak of 10K to 11 days. Tuesday was the first of back-to-bsck testing days for my subject -- MATH! I sure was busy bopping around the 4 different 6th grade classrooms, distributing positive notes and fun little toys to keep them engaged in the test all day long.
On Wednesday, we finished the test in style. For Day 2, my 6th graders got to use calculators to help them with their computations. But the problems are tougher with more constructed response questions than just multiple choice. I'm hoping our all-star scholars were able to improve on their already best-in-network scores.
Then as a treat for finishing all our state testing for the week, the school treated us to baseball tickets to see the NY Mets host the Pittsburg Pirates. The weather wasn't great, and neither were the Mets. Our starter gave up two 2-run HRs in the first three innings, and the Mets went on to lose the game tamely 4-0. Zzzzzz....
At least it was nice stacking up the steps on Wednesday as I had to take three different subway lines to get from my place in Bushwick, Brooklyn to Flushing, Queens for the game. All told, I still got there in under an hour thanks to that rush-hour express 7 train! Hopefully, I can walk this step count streak right through the weekend. Until next time...
