Thankfully, my partner and I made it out to Domino Park (yes, named after the sugar company) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for quick little sunset hang before a date night for dinner. Even more thankfully, the math team at school was rolled off of classes on Friday to use the time to grade our 1st interim assessment of the year.
Due to AI agents infiltrating the world's websites, our students' online testing had to be taken offline before the last 20% of our students could submit their tests. First period on Friday, we were able to get the rest of the students to submit their tests and then over the next three periods, the grade teams all graded their open response questions to record the final scores. Next week, we will tear up the data to facilitate target review for students who need help with assorted standards and past skills.
Step count think with that trip to the park. Not only did we walk to and from the subway to the park, but then we walked all around Williamsburg to see if we could walk in at any fancy spots without a reservation. Again, the attempt was futile. We decided on Pies n Thighs, a fried chicken and pie shop. The sides looked promising, there were collard greens.
The street art in the neighborhood was popping too, oozing with Puerto Rican pride!
All in all, it was a very successful date night and left us with full bellies for the walk home.
I hope you got your pumpkins for the holidays. Enough gourds for me. I'm ready for some candy!
