Sunday funday turned out to be the most active day of Lost Lands. We went over 27K steps as we started our way into the fall.
Saturday night, we took it easy and ended up back at camp by 2am, so there weren't too many steps taken before bedtime. Sunday truly was an epic adventure.
We started at the main stage with Grabbitz and Level Up before catching a few baselines from Zeke Beats at The Crater. One of the sets I was most looking forward to, Caspa & Rusko, finally played together for an hour at Wompy Woods started at 6.30pm.
Of course, the warm weather broke, and we finally got a dose of heavy rain for about 20 minutes during this set. Talk about some old school vibes, Caspa & Rusko go back to the very early days of UK original dubstep. The two of them were in fine form, with Rusko especially feeling himself on the mic. When in the right flow, there are few MCs better than Rusko these days.
Excision followed up the OG dubstep with my favorite set of the weekend, his Detox Set. I was so excited for these Sunday sets, I was dancing my tail off, which accounts for the higher step total on Sunday.
We even got to catch about 30 minutes of DJ Snake playing a bass set until we left to meet up with the whole crew for the last set of the weekend, Excision b2b Wooli. It was one of the most highly anticipated sets of the weekend and it lived up to the hype!
It was so nice to be able to finish the weekend together with our NY rave family as well as our Colorado rave family. I couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up the weekend than with all my favorite friends at Legend Valley main stage. Even though there was a fire ban, Excision and his production team audibled from fireworks to an amazing drone show.
Still photos just don't do justice to how cool the drone programming is to map these different image formations all while the music is blasting from the speakers. Despite all the steps, it was a camping music festival adventure well worth it. Monday is all about breaking down camp and snapping back to reality. Check back tomorrow for the sober dose of reality on Monday. Until next time...
