Being alone doesn't necessarily mean you are lonely, unless you are, of course. There are times when I need to be by myself, alone, spent in solitude, if you will. It gives me time to organize my thoughts, perhaps my life, or work through some things. I have never found a better place to do this than stepping out with Mother Nature.
She doesn't judge me, she is wonderful company and soon, We are headed through the neighborhood to the forest the joins the neighborhood on one side.It didn't really snow, but, Mother Nature threw a few flurries out, so I wore boots. Just because. I don't get to wear them much here, so any excuse will do.
I dial my brain down a bit and notice that the little things become more significant than usual. It has always been the little things in life for me. They are little characteristics that you may show from time to time, an event that is uneventful, but, memorable. It is part of how I remember people, places and things in life.
The leaves are still hanging out, making them more noticable when they are few and far between. The veining stands out, more ennunciated, you cannot possibly ignore it. Nature is so lovely every day, at all of her stages.
My thoughts are as winding as the path, it is so easy to reflect on me and my life when you are out here. It is peaceful, I can hear the forest life moving. The silence has broken, and it is all my fault. I watch a squirrel, but, he is too quick for me. Hey! Slow down, you going to fast!
Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. How can one refute the beauty of nature, spending time, just her and you? It is refreshing to my soul, to be honest...I am having a wonderful day, a definitely #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my
@c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A definite match, made in heaven.
I want to thank @ace108 and
@c0ff33a for hosting these fun challenges! Check them out!
When you don't sort your thoughts, I feel like they take on a life of their own, sort of like a fungus, growing from within. Take the time to get balance in your life. Time for you. You know how you make other people's day? Exactly. A little self indulgence goes a long way. I take the time to get in touch with myself and sort my thoughts.
I always worry when I see this on a living tree. I was thinking it was in the polypore group and now I am curious, so I looked it up. I shouldn't have. Sometimes ignorance is bliss...other times it is just ignorance. Perhaps someone with #fungus experience would know?
Perhaps one of the greatest merits of the polypore group is their importance within the decomposition process of dead and living wood (i.e. trunks of trees, fallen branches, and sometimes leaf litter) which in turn helps these mushrooms to fulfill their nutritional needs (saprophytic). In living trees, the presence of a polypore can often signify the beginning of the death process for trees as the mushroom’s mycelium (strands of hyphae slightly like roots) slither into the heartwood of trees to eventually produce a brownish-red rot. It is an incredibly beautiful day.The sun was shining and we didn't get the snow promised. I would call that lucky and a great reason to be happy.I like snow, but, not on a Sunday night.Tomorrow would be okay. Can I make an appointment for that? Want to feel great? Get in touch with yourself and invite Mother Nature along. You can never go wrong with that!
It is hard to tell if they are unhappy or merely resting on the ice. They have been walking around on it all morning and it is beginning to melt slightly.
Dear Canadian Geese,
Shouldn't you be migrating further south where you don't have to pretend you are a penguin, enjoying the ice? I'm pretty sure your feet get cold.
Sincerely yours,
Denise ❤️
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It never takes much to make a little happiness. It takes even less snow to get some joy out of the day. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great start to your week! Enjoy it! And just like that, this post is over! I forgot the flowers, so my feelings won't be hurt if you leave me some. #alwaysaflower! Goodnight from here!
The Naming of Cats
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
