not just stuff, they sre represent saying a potential goodbye to a dream we once thought we would be able to realize in the future.

Bingo! That is it, right there.

I know people who have been carrying things, all over the world and the excuse has always been that they are moving and don't have time to go through it. But, would they ever? No. I have had been through a hurricane that took my stored goods away with flooding, an instantaneous combustion fire that burned two rooms in military housing (sorry Uncle SamE) Tornado damage was never big, but, it was a nuisance. I lost mucho goods with these things. But, I didn't really collect although I do like certain things.

I am not attached to most material things, but, I am attached to people. I have tried to stress to my kids as they got older that finding a new home for things that are no use to them is a priority, although a few things in the memory box don't hurt either.

I think you are right! Time to clean house!
