Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on Hive. I take pleasure in all the wonderful posts you send me! Going places, doing things, buying merchandise. I have been surprised by many, not being familiar with the culture and I must say that it has been such an educational experience for me in so many ways and I hope for you also. This week, I am back at my flower market, but, this time, we will be shopping on the inside of their shop. This will be the first time since COVID that I step into a shop.
Are you ready to shop a bit?
Many of you already know that this is one of my most favorite places to shop or poke around in, especially if I have a moment or three to give in this guilty pleasure. I could call it a holiday shop because you can get Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day decorations at the right season, but, it is so much more than that. They have wine and lotions for your face and body... And then some. Follow me! We'll meander a bit!
I love these little stone ornaments for your garden or even for a pot of flowers. They had delightful little excerpts on them. Someone gifted me with one that said worm farm as my last name was Wigle... They thought it was rather cute. It kind of was.
Artificial flowers and wreaths are not something that I buy, but many people do, so they offer them up in a wide selection, and if you don't like what they have, they will design anything you desire, within their realm of expertise. I have used their design team to make a wreath and they are remarkable artists in their work. They also showed me how to do a few things so I can make my own. As I saidfunky before, it is family owned and operated and they go the extra mile for their customers. And as one of their faithful customers, I appreciate it!
This little area here is equipped with a big screen (relatively) chairs and a couch, plus, pictures of fish and other kinds of manly things. This is where the men come to hang out and bond if their little woman stays too long. They have a popcorn machine, which normally runs all the time, samples of wine, home-baked cookies, and usually juice to drink. Because of the restrictions, you must wear face masks and no food is given out. Now, they have something, but, I didn't bring a man, so all I know is that it's free! That's right. It's free! You gotta keep those men happy too! Now, I really want to know what it is!
Ribbons and ribbons and ribbons. Every kind imaginable for any reason. I love wrapping gifts with cloth ribbons. So, I save ribbons that I get on things. Wrapping them this way is a little extravagant, but, knowing I rescued it from an early demise makes me feel like I cheated somehow. Every color, width, and decoration on it.
Definitely a place to look at the offerings of a clock, from fancy to downright practical to upscale clocks and timepieces that would make Gucci proud. And the lamps! Did I forget to mention that I have a lamp fetish? Well, not a real fetish. I just love lamps of all styles and shapes. I have lamps all over the house. Just so you know, I have recessed lights in the ceiling, so I really don't need them, but, you just cannot duplicate the beauty of their light. Soft, beautiful, and a touch romantic. I can almost feel a poem coming on.

1. Go to the market! Any market will do! Food, Clothing, Plant or Animal, if you wish. You can go to the zoo or an art auction. Anywhere or anything that you pay money for a service. I once went to a nail salon.
2. Take pictures! Be creative (or not)
3. Tell us a little bit about the market, what brought you here?
4. Post the picture(s)
5. Don't forget to use the Market Friday Community page #hive-196308 or hashtag #MarketFriday and @dswigle.Please try to remember these. I am having trouble finding all the posts
6. Drop the link to your post here so I can easily find them
It is always interesting to see the different markets around the globe! C’mon! Show me your market shots! I eagerly await them!
Let the sun shine in on your life
So the joy may touch your soul
I am intrigued by different cultures. It is exciting and yes! I would love to see yours! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, the local marketplace or even an art gallery, a kite festival or a cherry blossom festival! Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! Don't forget to use the hashtag #MarketFriday and @dswigle.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
