Eye see you! His hair had been braided yesterday after he was hosed down. It is his own hair that is wrapped around to hold it instead of bands. That way, it will fall out on its own, probably while he is sleeping. Henry is such a man and spoiled accordingly. I know it is three days in a row, but, Monday, they are calling for a reprieve and cooler temperatures. I believe it will only be 75F/24C, so that will be a perfectly lovely day. Low humidity? Score! What is your perfect temperature, one that is not too cold, not too hot, but, just right?
Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. It is always a great day when I can spend it with some or all of the family. Today is a great day for some water fun. I am having the best of days, a definite #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my
@c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A definite match, made in heaven. I want to thank
@ace108 and
@c0ff33a for hosting these fun challenges! Check them out!
One of the girls had sort of adopted the grey feral kitty. We call him Grey and he has been around for about two years. Some days he leaves us for a short period of time and comes back tattered. Look at his right ear. Tattered and torn. I had him fixed hoping it would mend his wandering ways, but, he is still an alley cat. What can I say?
He followed us in the barn and got up on his tippy toes to reach the water in the freshly filled up bucket, He likes his reflection and sits there and watches it for a few minutes. It startled him at first, it always does. It is like he is on alert for another cat/dog/anything. I wonder what is going through his head when he sees a reflection of himself? Does his inside voice sing? You're beautiful! You're beautiful! I'm curious.
Did I mention that Henry likes baths? He is actually from Chincoteague Island off the coast of Eastern Virginia, where they roam wild and free. We bought him at auction a few years back, and it has been fun to watch this little guy grow from a few months old to where he is now. They hold the auctions to help control the size of the herd. If left unchecked, it would get too large for the island to sustain them. About 60 or more foals are born every year, and only a select few with dominant traits of their heritage are kept there on the island. I know that we feel lucky for having won the bid on him and most people that get one feel the same. Some people try for years to get one, you never know unless you go. It just might be your year!
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
This is called a waterfall braid, like a french braid, which actually works really well on a horse that has a long mane. Henry's mane is really long and his tail almost goes to the ground and would if we didn't trim it. It really is beautiful, but, needs a little fussing now and again. I just know how much he loves having his hair done. :)
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;Bold
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
