My dad used to say leading a good life is like following a compass, you always want to travel true north but sometimes you'll start drifting east or west, and sometimes you might even go completely in the wrong direction. Life isn't always so clear, is it? That's when I use my moral compass. Works every time.
My brother didn't believe in compasses, moral or otherwise. I'm reminded of Capt'n Jack's compass. It doesn't always point north, aye, but north isn't always what we're hoping to find. He stumbled, trying to find the right direction, but, for the longest time, his light didn't shine. Until one day it did. Some take longer than others, but, eventually, I think everyone finds their way, it just may not be your way.
Smile, you don't own all the problems in the World! Then, enjoy the beauty in front of you, the aroma of a good cup of coffee, and look forward to the amazing day in front of you. First, we will watch the dance of the Magnolias. I thought it was too early for them, but, they are already peaking across the street, and yet in my neighborhood, not one has decided to bloom. I have to admit, this lengthens my season of new blooms.
We didn't have much of a winter this year. It didn't even snow but maybe two inches all season. Still, it lifted my heart just thinking about the coming of Spring. This year in particular. For my soul can only take so many days of darkness before it breaks out in a fit of sunshine.
Oh, say it isn't so

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
