Do you really think that skin color matters when aiming a gun at a police officer?
I don't understand how that made the guy an asshole? Is that not common sense?
The police are trained to and REQUIRED to fire on you if you point a gun at them.

And I say this, as someone who has NO love for police.
But I find myself constantly having to explain them to people because there's a huge concept of racism with the police.

As a white person, who has been arrested many times. The police have not treated me well in many cases.
I own guns, and I know that you never point one at anything you don't plan to shoot. If I pointed a gun at a cop, I'd better be faster than him or I'm dead.

When I was 17 I got into a street fight outside a mall. There were many weapons involved, and my best friend ended up stabbing and killing a guy who was 21. The fight started because they had robbed another friend of ours earlier that night. A kid who was 15, and was with two girls.

When the police found me and my friend hiding they were quite abusive to us. We were slammed on the ground, slammed into fences, cars, and just about anything between the deck we were hiding under all the way to the cruisers.

Police trample our rights. Search us illegally with no cause. They harass us on the road with aggressive driving. They're a gang basically. They have an "us versus them" mentality. Part of it comes from training.
BUT, there's another side to that. Police deal with the worst people of society every single day. It makes them callous, and jaded. They aren't even required to see a therapist until they shoot someone.
For every video you see on TV of a police man shooting a black guy, there's a white guy without a gun that got shot too. The news does not cover it.
If you want an example look up the video of the police murdering Daniel Shaver. He hadn't even committed a crime. He's gunned down in a hallway, sobbing, crawling on his hands and knees towards them trying to follow orders.
All while they're screaming "I will blow you the fuck away". The news media plays the race angle to get people divided. They don't care about the white people killed because it doesn't get the racism narrative going like a black man getting killed.

And yeah, police do profile black citizens for sure. It has a lot to do with the area your in. But if you're a white guy with long hair and a beat up car, they're profiling your ass too. The police shoot and kill more white people than black though, and that's expected because of population. Black people make up 13% of the population vs whites in the majority. There's an issue with the amount of encounters though, there are far more black encounters with the police.
