Splash page! This issue is titled after the major arcana tarot card, The Emperor. It stands in contrast to the previous issue titled, The Empress:
This page will also get the crazy color treatment, so the pages will look more alike than they appear at this moment. Whereas we see the sign of femininity in the mirror for last issues splash page, in issue 5 we get two rams heads. A reference to the rams throne that "The Emperor" sits upon in the traditional tarot deck.
It's sometimes a real puzzle thinking how we will incorporate the tarot imagery into the pages I decide will become the splash page. We do seem to be getting better at it every issue though!
