This scene is a great example about how when you are stuck writing, causing big problems for your characters is a great way to get unstuck. I spent a year rewriting Issue 4, and then wrote the majority of this issue in a single week. The reason this happens is because I allowed my characters to make strong choices, that forced them to keep dealing with the fallout of those choices.
Here we are, 13 pages into Issue 5, and Rosie is STILL reacting to the choice Harvey made in Issue 4 to kill a past version of William. When writing, it is MUCH easier to think "How would my character react to this bad thing that happened" than it is to ask "what happens next?" or "why isn't this working?"
And sometimes you have to let your characters die before you intended. I was SURE Harvey would survive Issue 4, but I was wrong, and now his death is causing problems for Rosie. The cop who is in love with Harvey is about to find him dead in HER dressing room.
