In the Ithaqa universe A'peri Ian'uam is the ancient word for "Door" and here you can see Rosie Jones displaying her knowledge of that spell. You can also start to see here that Theresa begins to get more experimental in her panel borders/layouts - a trend that only gets more noticeable in the pages to come!
A lot of times I don't clock the story references that really inspire me until way after the fact. I wrote The Loom sequence at least a year ago, maybe two, honestly. With that much distance between the initial writing and now, i see strong elements of The Subtle Knife (Golden Compass series) here, the whole pinching and gripping of reality with your bare hands to open or close windows between worlds. That trilogy was my favorite for many many years in elementary and middle school, so I shouldn't be surprised to see bits an pieces of it surfacing here. It's just interesting because I didn't consciously invoke The Subtle Knife when I wrote this, and yet now I'm looking at it and it's hard for me NOT to see it.
Not that I didn't put my own Psychedelic Eldritch spin on the concept!
