I buy that explanation, but I still find it extremely risky to make sweeping changes without at least some real world experimentation. Maybe there's a way to mitigate those risks, but I'm not the one to look into that. All I know is that major changes to fundamental parts of the system are potentially catastrophically risky. We're not on extremely stable footing as it is, from my viewpoint.
