Google, Amazon, and many other companies are also creating new currencies. Maybe thousands of companies will release their own currencies this year? Perhaps most businesses will have their own "money"? Canadian Tire has been issuing their own currency for decades, offering physical paper notes that look like traditional currency created by banks or governments. Recently, this currency is being stored and spent using a small microchip embedded in a plastic card, making "Canadian Tire Dollars" more of a legitimate digital currency than, say, Dogecoin.
What's next in this giant monetary mess called an economy? Stay tuned, because only the wildest and silliest predictions will end up being right.
