Patch Notes #001: New Commentated Modular Synth Series on DTube

Today's video is the first multicam modular synth performance video I've posted to DTube in awhile, and instead of going on at great length in the explanation paragraph here, I decided to work my commentary into the video itself. I'm hoping to get my video capture rig to a point where I can set up a bunch of cheap old iphones and gopros that focus on different sections of the patch ... so that as I'm focusing on certain sections in the explanation, multiple real time zoomed-in shots can be happening at once. I also have some plans for setting up a camera on tracks and using an Arduino module to recieve midi and move the camera smoothly + automatically as the patch progresses.

One thing I didn't get to properly address in the video was the use of mechanical switches in creating the beat. Lately I've been super inspired by a rhythm composition method where I take two pretty dissimilar intepretations of the same beat, and run the sequencing information itself from these two sources into a mechanical switch. I can then send a sympathetic LFO from elsewhere in the patch ... perhaps summing it with some controlled random voltages ... and get all manner of evolving, non-intuitive and highly inspiring changes. Definitely something to explore in future patches!
